Historia Collective

What’s
your story?

A place for human stories, complex truths and what comes next.

You don’t need to arrive with the right language, a clear goal or a polished version of what happened. We can start with your story.

What is Historia?

Inquiry. Story. Meaning.

Historia comes from the Ancient Greek historía — meaning inquiry, knowledge gained through investigation, and the act of learning by asking questions.

It sits at the roots of the words we now associate with history and story.

Long before stories became content, humans used them to make sense of experience. To remember. To understand. To teach. To connect. To belong. To make meaning from what had happened — and imagine what might happen next.

That idea sits at the heart of Historia Collective.

Curiosity rather than judgement. Complexity and contradiction. Empathy. Better questions. Witnessing. The stories we inherited, the stories we created to survive, the stories we’ve carried about ourselves — and the stories we’ve mistaken for truth.

What’s your story?

Maybe it’s the relationship.
The grief.
Motherhood — and everything it brought up that nobody warned you about.
The pattern you understand intellectually but somehow keep repeating.
Addiction. Recovery. Reinvention.
A career or life that looks perfectly fine from the outside but doesn’t quite feel like yours anymore.
An identity you’re outgrowing.
A decision you can’t seem to make.

Or maybe there’s nothing neat enough to name yet.

I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing.

That’s welcome too.

Together, we’ll get curious about what’s underneath it: the patterns, beliefs, losses, contradictions, values, protective parts, longings and possibilities that have shaped where you are now. Not so we can rewrite the past into something prettier. But so you can understand it differently — and have more choice about what comes next.

Sometimes the facts of our story cannot be changed.
But the meaning we make from them can.
Our relationship with our story can.
And the story we choose to live from here is still being written.

Private Session with Em Davidson

A private session offering space to explore what’s happening in your life, the stories and patterns shaping your experience, and what might come next.

You might bring the relationship, the grief, motherhood, recovery, identity, work, the pattern you keep repeating — or simply: “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing with my life.”

You don’t need to tidy your story before you tell it.

This isn’t about me telling you what to do with your life, and it isn’t about endlessly analysing your past. It’s a different kind of conversation — one with curiosity, warmth, depth and, when it’s useful, challenge.

What matters now? What do you want? Who are you becoming?

What might the next chapter look like if it wasn’t being written entirely by the last one?

Matrix Therapies Clearing Session

A focused Matrix Therapies session designed to explore and work with the emotional charge connected to a particular person, belief, recurring pattern, grief, loss or experience.

You might come with a relationship or person you feel stuck around, a limiting belief or recurring pattern, or grief and emotion connected to something you’ve experienced or lost.

Together, we’ll work with what is present, explore what may be sitting underneath it, and support greater understanding, emotional resolution and choice moving forward.

About Em

My expertise hasn’t only been learned. It has been lived.

I’ve spent years studying human behaviour, coaching people through change and sitting alongside their stories.

But some of what I know most deeply didn’t come from a textbook, a training room or a qualification. I lived it.

My own story contains layers and contradictions. Addiction and recovery. Motherhood in more than one form. Love and loss. Grief. ADHD, and the ongoing process of understanding my own mind, body and emotional world. Reinvention. Chapters I’ve shared openly, and others I once desperately wanted nobody to know.

I’ve lived through — and continue to live with — my own complex truths. I’ve known shame. I’ve known what it is to reject parts of myself because I believed they said something unacceptable about who I was.

Some of the parts of myself I once worked hardest to reject are the parts I now hold with the most tenderness.

I don’t need you to tidy your story before you tell it.

I’m committed to making room for the layers and contradictions. Love and anger. Gratitude and grief. Strength and fragility. Certainty and I have absolutely no fucking idea.

There is room for all of it.

I’m endlessly interested in what it means to be human. Human layers. Human contradictions. The things people are proud of and the things they’d rather nobody knew.

Alongside lived experience, I bring years of professional coaching, facilitation, mental health and addiction advocacy and storytelling, supported by training across Acceptance & Commitment Therapy-informed approaches, Matrix Therapies, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, grief education and other psychological and behavioural frameworks.

Those frameworks matter. But I won’t reduce you to a framework.

I’m interested in you. What happened. What you made it mean. What you’ve learnt to hide. What you’ve had to become. What matters now. And what you want to choose next.

Stories have always mattered to me

What I Don’t Want You to Know

Before Historia Collective had a name, much of what sits at its heart was already being explored through What I Don’t Want You to Know, the podcast I created and co-host with Tania.

We wanted somewhere people could feel safe enough to be seen and heard — and perhaps brave enough to cough up the things they previously hadn’t wanted anyone to know.

So we created conversations about the complex truths of being human: the messiness, awkwardness, humour, grief, shame, contradictions, the things we’re proud of and the things we’d rather nobody knew.

Stories shared with curiosity rather than judgement, and with bucket loads of compassion, kindness and love.

Human stories matter. Complex truths deserve room. And there can be freedom in finally being known.
